Disclaimer
This is a community
blog. All content is based on respective author’s opinion and experience. This
means that posts are not factual, but rather subjective to their own views,
tastes and background. Though one should keep this subjectivity in mind, we
hope that posts will be informative and interesting for readers and perhaps,
lead you to form your own opinions and preferences.
Almost all of the
time, the authors do NOT receive any special compensation or financial
incentive for this blog and will be certain to clearly state the existence of
such if the need arises. Furthermore, the authors do not maliciously intend to
disparage or overtly promote any restaurant, but rather give honest, unfiltered
opinions. If you agree with what stated, then that’s great, we’ve managed to
inadvertently express your opinions through our posting. If you do not, then
perhaps it’s best for us both to remember two hackneyed yet true sayings:
1) Different strokes
for different folks
2) Let’s agree to
disagree
We love receiving
feedback about your experiences, suggestions and ideas. Though it is inevitable
that personal attacks or differences may arise, we hope that this disclaimer
will serve as a reminder that while constructive criticism is welcomed, we want
to make this a fun space for everyone, so nasty rants will not be tolerated.
Disclosure
The Culinary
Physics Blog does
not endorse any product or restaurant I feel is sub-standard. No ifs, ands, or
buts.
Who Pays for All
That Food?
As a general rule, I
(or our columnists and team members when they’re writing up reviews) pay for
every trip we take— flights, hotel, food, tickets. It’s important to us to do
this so that we can further ensure our readers that our reviews are un-biased.
If our travel, hotel,
tickets, or food are ever complimentary, it will be noted in the resulting blog
posts. However, I am 100% honest in my reviews, even if the food was
complimentary. If I didn’t like it, I’ll let you know
neither I nor my editors
and contributors are ever under any obligation to review food positively.
Culinary Physics
Food Blog accepts the following forms of compensation:
Because that food
usually isn’t free, we do accept compensation in the form of affiliate program
advertising, restaurant and hotel sponsorships, and product sales.
Affiliate Programs
and Display Advertising:
Some of the shopping
links on http://culinaryphysics.blogspot.com are “referral links” that
track the source of the purchase back to http://culinaryphysics.blogspot.com
through an “affiliate program.” When you click on one of those links or buy
something coming from the link, the Blog gets a small commission (usually a few
cents) from the linked site for referring you.
This does not
affect the price of the product or the price you pay. Also, the consumer’s purchases are
confidential; I don’t know who has purchased items using my blog’s affiliate
links or display advertisement.
Restaurant Sponsor
Partnerships:
You won’t see a lot of
advertising here on the Culinary Physics Blog, but we may enter into
relationships with sponsors whom we have sought out based on the high
quality of their services and the synergy between their product and the focus
of the Culinary Physics Blog. Basically, if I find something I would
want to know about as a Food fan, then it’s something I want to tell my readers
about. Sponsor partnerships may result in posts about culinary- and
food-related events and products that I have determined are high-quality enough
to mention on the blog.
However, we are not
compensated to provide a positive opinion on products, services, websites, and
various other topics. The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely
those of the blog’s writers. If we claim or appear to be experts on a certain
topic, product, or service area, we will only endorse products or services that
we believe, based on our expertise, are worthy of such endorsement. Any product
claim, statistic, quote, or other representation about a product or service
should be verified with the manufacturer or provider.
